Our Lady of Penafrancia Devotees

The Feast Day of the Virgin of Peñafrancia in the Bicol Region is celebrated every third Saturday of September; thus, the devotion of Ina (as she is fondly called in Bicol) in Santa Martha is every Third Saturday of the month.
Upon the initiative and encouragement of Father Ramel Poquita, CP the Local Superior of the Santa Martha Monastery, among the Bicolano devotees of Ina, a devotion to Ina in Santa Martha was started. The enshrinement of Ina was held on June 3, 2023, which was celebrated by Father Renato Santos Jr., the Director and Priest-in-Charge of Our Lady Woman of Valor Church, DMC, Tel Aviv, Chaplain of the Filipino Community, and was concelebrated by Father Ramel Poquita, CP.

 

From then on, the devotees of Ina Peñafrancia, which are mostly composed of Bicolanos, along with their friends, go to Santa Martha every third Saturday of the month to fulfill their devotion. It is important to mention that on September 9, 2023, the very first translation of Ina Peñafrancia in Israel was held in Santa Martha. The devotees of Ina are very grateful for the Santa Martha monastery headed by Father Ramel Poquita, CP together with Father Mark Reagan Tobias, CP and its volunteers, for welcoming and accommodating Ina into its fold.
